Tabletop Styling begins October 19. Techniques for Product and Still Life Photos #83
Tabletop Styling begins October 19. Techniques for Product and Still Life Photos  The bulk of work for clients such as catalogs, retailers, and advertising is Product Styling, done on a small scale in a studio. Learn skills and techniques for this type of styling on Tabletop Styling, a 4-week online course with instructor Trisha Hassler, professional Product Stylist based in Portland, OR.

Do you want to find opportunities as a professional stylist? Learn the tips and tricks to help you be a successful product stylist.

Whether you are styling shoes, handbags, plates, or jewelry there are techniques for successful styling that might surprise you. This course will make your life easier when you are in the studio and faced with a "how-to challenge."

Instructor: Trisha Hassler
Class Meeting: Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 12:00 noon Eastern Standard Time.

All aspects of product styling – at all levels - will be explored in Tabletop Styling with instructor Trisha Hassler.
Do you want to be prepared for any product or still life opportunity that comes your way?
Work in a market that has a varied clientele of catalog or retail clients?
Yearn to create the beautiful still life shots you see in other stylists' portfolios?
Wonder what a typical day of styling on the set is like?
Then, decide if the fun, highly-skilled, creative world of product styling is your next career path!

These questions and many others are explored in Tabletop Styling, Techniques for Product and Still Life Photos. Hear about Trisha's experiences with certain styling challenges and how she was able to overcome the challenges and help produce a fabulous end result for her clients. You'll find out what's required of a product stylist, techniques for problem-solving, and how to build your portfolio with the right shots.

You will be presented with fun and challenging assignments each week, teaching you the hands-on skills necessary to become a product stylist. Experience a day in the life of a stylist ~ your course is guaranteed to be fun, fascinating, rewarding and maybe a little bit hectic and crazy! Put to use your "special talents" to style the challenging assignments.

How the Course Works
Tabletop Styling is completely online so it can be convenient to fit into your own schedule. And we have had students from all over the world taking the classes together.

You will receive your lesson each Tuesday but there is no specific schedule for the class. You can read and study the lessons at your own pace, on your own schedule. Sometime during that week you can complete your assignments and upload them to the class Gallery, which is a site open only to online students and the instructor.

Every Tuesday during the session the instructor emails you a PDF of that week's lesson. It is filled with images and lots of information about Tabletop Styling. You can print it out or read it online. You may also receive related articles about the profession.

Weekly assignments are uploaded to our Gallery where you can post your images and commentary. The instructor reviews each student's album of images and adds commentary - and students can view the other students' work and instructor commentary. Working at your own pace, you'll benefit as much as you want from the class.

Course concludes with a Class Meeting giving you an opportunity to communicate with fellow students and instructor. Instructor will review and evaluate your work and that of other students. Ask your instructor questions and discuss the next step of your career. Plus you'll have a chance to meet and network with fellow students. Class Meeting: Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 12:00 noon Eastern Standard Time.
