Instructor:
Susan Linnet Cox
Class Meeting: Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 12:00 noon Eastern Standard Time.
The producer of a photo shoot is the person in charge of the logistics of a photo shoot. Many find that specializing in providing these needed services makes an exciting career. Photo stylists need production skills to build a successful career. Or an art director or marketing manager may be called on to produce photo shoots. In either case, familiarity with the entire shoot and control of all its aspects are the keys to successful production.
Location scouting, permits, casting talent, hiring the crew, arranging travel and meals, and countless little details make a photo shoot run smoothly. Learn these skills in
Producing Photo Shoots
and you’ll always be in demand.
Fun and challenging assignments will be presented weekly. You’ll learn about the myriad aspects of photo shoots and be comfortable with the role of producer. And your instructor is
Susan Linnet Cox
, an experienced resource who can answer your questions.
NOTE: This course is only offered twice a year at Photo Styling Workshops.
How the Course Works
Producing Photo Shoots is completely online and we have had students from all over the world taking the class together.
There is no specific schedule for the class. You can read and study the lessons at your own pace, on your own schedule. Sometime during that week you can complete your assignments and upload them to the class Gallery, which is a site open only to online students and the instructor.
Every Tuesday during the session the instructor emails you a PDF of that week's lesson. It is filled with images and lots of information about photo shoot production. You can print it out or read it online. You will also receive extra articles that will inform you about the profession.
There will be assignments to complete which can be uploaded to our Gallery where you can post your images and text. The instructor will add comments and observations, plus you can view the other students' work. Working at your own pace, you’ll benefit as much as you want to from the class.
Course concludes with a
Class Meeting
giving you an opportunity to communicate with fellow students and instructor. Instructor will review and evaluate your work and that of other students. Ask your instructor questions and discuss the next step of your career. Plus you'll have a chance to meet and network with fellow students.
Class Meeting: Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 12:00 noon Eastern Standard Time.
